'80s Jackpot

I don't go to thrift shops nearly as much as I'd like to, mainly because I have no idea where any are. But, occasionally when I am in town, I do head to the Goodwill. This past weekend I hit the '80s jackpot at the Goodwill. Look at all of my loot:

I am super excited by all of my cassette tapes, especially since I found a Madonna one. And, look what the woman at the front desk gave me for free:

Wheee! Yeah, I know this is Madonna's Vogue look in 1991, but it was too cool not to post, plus it was free!

So now I have to figure out what to do with all of these items. I know there are some craft tutorials out there on making record bowls and other things, but I'm not sure that is what I want to do. Anyone have any ideas or links to tutorials?

In the meantime, I will be heading up to the attic to dig out my cassette player so I can listen to my new '80s cassettes!

  1. My first thought was one of those purses made out of records or possibly the album cover, there are about a million pages on that (and not all helpful) showing different ways people have done that. Like this: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=77735.0

Goodwill is my favorite place for free entertainment. :)

  2. This should be a good start: http://web.archive.org/web/20051001112632/http://readymademag.com/feature_1_newspin.php
