A Cat Nap

January 28, 2010

I got a third box of "new" yarn yesterday. My 2nd bedroom/craft room/den is slowly being overtaken by skeins of yarn. I really need to get crackin' on some projects.

I removed most of the contents of the box and had skeins of yarn all over the floor, which meant I was just begging for trouble. Drusilla likes to eat yarn, so I have to watch her like a hawk any time yarn is around.

But, she is sneaky and super fast, and I hadn't noticed that she had started to nibble on a piece of blue yarn. As I whipped around to grab the yarn and scoop up the cat, somebody decided it was the perfect opportunity to take a leap into the box, still full of yarn.

Thank goodness Daphne doesn't eat things. No, she just likes to knead (and scratch) things. So, to make herself comfortable in her new little bed, she kneaded the brand new white yarn in the box. She snagged only one skein in the process, which was a small miracle, but managed to get cat hair all over the skeins that were not in bags. We have deemed that "her" yarn now.

  1. Love the picture, we have a kitty that looks quite a bit like yours. She would have done the exact same thing if given the chance.

  5. Hmm is there a crocheted cat bed in your future? Haha! OF COURSE she would pick the white yarn. My cat is white so she likes black things because then her hair shows up extra well!

  6. Gotta love what the kittehs do! we have an adopted feral cat that is spending more and more time indoors. Don't really want her to discover yarn..........

  7. Typical cat move!!! Such a sweety! I love her lopsided ear look - makes her look innocent. "Wasn't this box of cat toys put here for me? Oh, I'm terribly sorry, I automatically assumed that it belonged to me!"
