So it is March 1st. You know what that means. . . The no spend month is under way.

I’ve been prepping for this for over a week now and I am really concerned that I’m not going to make it. It is going to be really tough not buying anything except the necessities, but I’m in it to win it!

My main goal in making sure I am successful with this no spend month is to keep myself busy. I have a to-do list that is a mile long, so finding stuff to occupy my time isn’t going to be that difficult.

The most important thing on my to-do list is still the purging of my house. I am smack dab in the middle of my house purge, which means my house is an absolute disaster! I have piles of junk to be thrown away, stuff to go to the Goodwill, and items I want to sell online. Unfortunately, it is making me and the girls very anxious.

One way to help me battle the piles of stuff all over the house is the 40 Bags in 40 Days Challenge

Swing on by whitehouseblackshutters.com to read about the challenge that starts today! The gist is to get rid of or donate one bag of stuff every day. I’m pretty sure I’ll be able to get rid of more than one bag of stuff every day. I have that much stuff in my house!

In other news, my little girl, Drusilla’s health has been declining rapidly these last few months. I fear the junk all over the house is partly to blame. She gets stressed out pretty easily. I am really going to work hard to get a lot of it out of the house this weekend so she can relax a bit.

Unfortunately, the writing is on the wall and our time left together looks to be short. I don’t want to spend this entire month purging and cleaning. I’d like to spend some time quality with her (and Daphne) too.

I’m also hoping to get some crafting in. My crafting has been lacking this year. Big Time! It is mostly due to the fact that I can’t find any of my craft supplies. This past weekend, I spent almost an hour looking for my N crochet hook. I have NO idea where it is in the midst of my mess, so I went out and bought another one. Not very no spend like, but I did use a coupon and it wasn’t March yet . . .

I will be super pleased with myself if I not only succeed at the no spend month but also get my entire house, with the exception of the attic, purged and organized. It is a gigantic task, but I think I’m up for the challenge!

Anyone else jumping in with either the no spend month or 40 Bags in 40 Days Challenge?
