Where have I been and what have I been doing?
Well, it has been a hot minute since I’ve updated this blog. When Covid hit in 2020, all of my creativity went out the window. I didn’t feel like doing much of anything, especially crafts or DIY projects. I basically sat on my couch watching Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, and YouTube. But, it was a little fun being a couch potato. It gave me time to find some new favorite shows. Hello, Rip and Yellowstone!
Finally, I started to feel my creativity start up again and my crafty mojo return. Since then, I have been organizing my supplies, searching through Pinterest boards again, looking through my craft books, and thinking about my blog.
The blog is getting a facelift
Unfortunately, I realized that my little Crafting with Cat Hair blog had been down for several months. After reaching out to the awesome people at Namecheap, we determined that one problem was user error, Oops! My bad!, and the other is my template. The current template, while super cute, has caused me issues from day 1. So, it is time to trade it in for something else.
Over the next few weeks, I’ll be giving the old blog a bit of a facelift. I’m still not sure if I’ll be updating the color scheme and logo too, or just transferring everything over to a new template. We shall see! Things might look a little wonky around here for the next few weeks, so please be patient. The goal is to have it up and running by the beginning of July. *fingers crossed*
New blog content
Along with a blog facelift, I’ll be tweaking the blog content. If 2020 taught me anything, it was to live within my means, save, and also enjoy the little things. So many things that we all enjoyed and experienced on a daily basis were taken away from us in the blink of any eye. I don’t want any of us to miss out on the simple things in life anymore.
So, because of 2020, thanks, 2020, I will primarily be featuring crafts and DIY projects that are easy and cheap! I’d like this blog to be a space where you can come to find a simple, last minute crafty gift idea or an inexpensive Christmas project that is cute but can also save you some money.
I will also be re-categorizing and re-tagging many of my previous blog posts/projects, as well as archiving some of the really old posts. This blog has been around since 2006. Yikes! I’ll also have some new categories and tags, including holidays, play food, and quick & easy crafts.
So, there you have it! And here is a little sneak peek at some of the blog posts I have in the works for July: “Holidays & Special Days to Celebrate all Year“, “Christmas in July – Let’s Get Crafting!” & a new yarn palette post, just to name a few.
Are you excited to get back to crafting? I’m excited! See y’all in a few weeks!
