There is a lot of Christmas spirit floating around the blogosphere this week. One fun blog party I am taking part in is the Christmas in July Blog Party over at just add glitter and stir. Swing by and take a peek at all the great bloggers hosting parties today.

I have been having a lot of fun hosting a little Christmas in July Blog Party of my own this week. If you are a crafter and want to get started on your Christmas crafts, please check out my 6 days of craft ideas.

Day #1 – Deck the Halls
Day #2 – O Christmas Tree
Day #3 – Let it Snow
Day #4 – Pine Cones and Holly Berries
Day #5 – Grown Up Christmas List
Day #6 – Toyland

I have quite a Christmas craft list of my own this year: handmade Christmas cards, ornaments for co-workers, stockings, tree trimmings. . . I am doubting that it will all get done by December 25. But I seem to be well on my way.

My very first Christmas craft was finished last night, and I think it turned out great.

My very first (of five) felt stockings. I used Martha Stewart’s Holly Stocking pattern, but substituted felt for linen and wooden beads for felt ones.

A second stocking has also been completed, but that one is a surprise. I’ll have to wait until after Christmas to post a picture of that one!

The third and fourth stockings are for my cats, Drusilla and Daphne. I’m still working on both of those, but Drusilla’s is coming along nicely.

The fifth stocking is mine and I still have no idea what I am going to do for that one. Oh well, four out of five ‘aint bad. πŸ™‚

I am also very happy to report that 100% of the materials I am using on all five of my stockings are from my craft stash, so the stockings are costing $0.00!!!

And now I leave you with one of my favorite things about Christmas, the music! And what’s better than ’80s Christmas music?!

Enjoy all of the Christmas parties today!!!

Merry Christmas in July from Texas!

You have a great blog. I will be back to read when I have a lot more time. I am trying to get to all the parties. I love the advent calendars that you posted. I thought about using the shoe holder a few years ago for a swap advent calendar, but couldn't find one that big. I LOVE the big tree on the wall. I would love to have a pattern for that one.

    Be back soon.
