Nothin’ But A Good Time!

During the mid to late ’80s I became a huge fan of the hairbands. I mean, I loved them all: Whitesnake, Cinderella, Bon Jovi, Dokken. . . I could go on and on, but the one band that I loved more than any of the others was Poison. Bret Michaels was the be all and end all in my book, though Jon Bon Jovi ran a very close second.

I remember one year I was home from school with pinkeye on the day that “Open Up and Say Ahh” was released. I was so upset that I wasn’t going to be able to get the album on that first day, so my mom went first thing in the morning and got it for me. I had already listened and memorized the songs by the time the rest of my friends picked up the album after school. Thanks, Mom!
But, I wasn’t the only Poison fan in my school. Nope, there were quite a few of us. We were so crazy; we used to throw a Bret Michaels birthday party every year on his birthday, which I still remember as being March 15. We would wear our Poison shirts, play Poison music, and have the decorations and birthday cake in black and bright green, Poison’s colors.
So in honor of Bret’s upcoming birthday, I made myself a Poison crocheted hook case.
I knew all those years of me perfecting the Poison logo would pay off someday! 🙂
